RECENT ADVENTURE...
Atlas Mountains of Morocco to northern Spain. 2,856 km and 36,350 m elevation. The equivalent of climbing Mount Everest more than four times.

Magic Moments
Several times throughout Morocco, I was invited into family homes to share a meal. The hospitality was unlike anything I have experienced anywhere else in the world. One evening, high in the Atlas Mountains, I was welcomed into a beautiful garden surrounded by chickens and dogs and treated to a delicious tagine. Before I left, the father proudly disappeared into the house and returned with his son's university graduation certificate, eager to share his family's achievement with a passing cyclist.

Back on my bike, I continued along the winding mountain road. Not long afterwards, I spotted a group of children playing football on a makeshift pitch beside a river. As I approached, excited voices echoed across the valley.
"Monsieur! Monsieur!"
Then came a stream of Berber that I couldn't understand. Optimistically, I chose to believe they were inviting me to join them. I scrambled down the steep riverbank, trying to work out how I was going to cross. Seeing my confusion, several of the children splashed through the water and guided me to a makeshift bridge. Minutes later, I found myself playing what would become my favourite game of football ever.
The Atlas Mountains rose around us like silent spectators as the evening sun cast a golden glow across the valley. We laughed, chased the ball across the dusty pitch, and somehow I even managed to score a goal.
As the sun slipped behind the mountains and the air began to cool, it was time to say goodbye.
It was one of those moments no route planner could ever predict — a shared meal, a game of football, and a reminder that the most memorable parts of any journey are often the ones you never see coming.
This was just one of countless moments of kindness, connection and adventure I experienced along the way. Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing more stories from the road as I piece together the documentary, edit the photographs, and bring the journey to life on the upcoming YouTube channel.
